Primarily, an excavator is used for the purpose of driving hydraulic pumps. But an excavator is more complex than just a few hydraulic pumps. It has an undercarriage, as one of its prime components. This undercarriage is that part of the excavator which is comprised of tracks, the frame of the tracks, the gear box which can gear the tracks individually; the final drives (the ones which have the hydraulic motor); and the blades, if they are fitted. Furthermore, there are various other parts such as the operators cab, the engine, counterweight, fuel and hydraulic oil tanks, which are included in the house of the excavator. But it would be futile for a mobile machine, used for projects by the secondary sector of the economy to be able to move form one place to another, but be fixed facing just one direction.
